A Makerspace is an area that is reserved for creative exploration, engineering, tinkering, and inventing. Makerspaces incorporate engineering materials, crafting materials, technology, robotics, and more. Low Income Student Aid, Inc. (LISA) was able to fund the materials needed to create such space at Cottonwood Community School!

We are thrilled to announce that our district has achieved an incredible letter grade of A! This outstanding accomplishment reflects the hard work, dedication, and passion of our entire community—students, educators, staff, and families alike. Our communities' tax dollars are hard at work!
Cottonwood Community School = A*
Cottonwood Education Services/Verde Tech = A*
Dr. Daniel Bright Elementary = B**
Mountain View Preparatory = B**
Oak Creek Elementary School = A*
"A" schools fall into the "Distinguished" category and "B" schools fall into "Highly Performing"

Good afternoon all,
We had an unexpected fire drill today at CCS. Students were working in the Science lab at CCS and doing a science experiment. Some solution spilled and splashed into a nearby outlet causing smoke in the classroom. The classroom was evacuated which led to a school-wide fire alarm initiated. All students were evacuated to the field. The fire department came immediately and assessed the situation. Students have now returned to the classroom to finish their day. Maintenance and Facilities are addressing the problem.
