Just because the temperatures are heating up doesn't mean the fun stops at Camp Innovation!
Mrs. Boxx turned the Arizona sunshine into the perfect science lab as campers put the heat to the test by cooking eggs outside using nothing but the power of the sun and hot surfaces! 🌞 The experiment sparked great conversations about temperature, heat transfer, and just how intense our summer sun can be.
Hands-on learning, curiosity, and a little summer heat made for another unforgettable day at Camp Innovation. Thanks, Mrs. Boxx, for showing our campers that science is everywhere—even on the hottest days! 🧪💛

Camp Innovation was proud to celebrate our amazing Read Better Be Better graduates! A huge thank you to the Read Better Be Better team for traveling all the way from Phoenix to recognize our campers and celebrate their hard work.
Read Better Be Better helps students build reading and leadership skills by pairing older readers with younger readers to learn and grow together. Throughout camp, our older campers became reading mentors, creating friendships and confidence one story at a time.
To celebrate their accomplishments, each graduate received a medal, certificate, Read Better Be Better t-shirt, free books of their choice, and plenty of well-deserved applause!

There were lots of laughs, great teamwork, and plenty of friendly competition. Mrs. Wacker came to join the fun and to help break a tie!
A special thank you to Mr. Swenson for organizing an amazing assembly and planning all of the games. Your enthusiasm and creativity made our final week one our campers will remember for a long time!

A huge thank you to Mrs. Danielle from the Cottonwood Public Library for joining us at our end-of-camp assembly and surprising every camper with a special gift! We are so grateful for our partnership and everything the library does to encourage a love of reading in our community.
Our campers also reached an incredible milestone this summer, reading a combined 138,240 minutes in just six short weeks! 📖👏 Their dedication and enthusiasm for reading has been amazing to watch, and we couldn't be more proud.

Lesley shared the inspiring story of how she became an author and encouraged our campers to dream big, believe in themselves, and make those dreams happen. She reminded everyone that every person has a story worth telling.

❤️ Camp Innovation is teaching our students that great leaders serve others.
This week, our Leadership Academy had the opportunity to give back to the community by helping deliver meals to local seniors who aren't always able to get out on their own. It was a meaningful experience that reminded our students how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
The smiles they shared, the conversations they had, and the gratitude they received made this a day they won't soon forget. We are so proud of these young leaders for showing compassion, generosity, and a true heart for serving others. Thank you to everyone who helped make this special opportunity possible! ❤️

📚 COCSD's Camp Innovation is proud to partner with Read Better, Be Better to help our campers grow into confident readers!
One of the most rewarding parts of the program is watching our older students team up with younger campers to practice reading together. Through patience, encouragement, and shared stories, our young mentors are building leadership skills while helping their reading buddies strengthen their confidence and love of books.
It's amazing to see friendships form across age groups as campers learn from one another. Thank you, Read Better, Be Better, for helping make reading fun and meaningful while inspiring the next generation of readers and leaders! 📖❤️
🎨🍦 Creativity You Can Wear & Sweet Summer Treats! 🍦🎨
Camp Innovation's Leadership Team has had an awesome time in Mrs. Michelle's art class! They designed and created their own one-of-a-kind tie-dye shirts, and it was so much fun to see each student's personality shine through in their unique designs. Every pair was different, just like the amazing kids who made them!
To top it all off, they learned how to make homemade ice cream and enjoyed the delicious results together.
Camp Innovation gives Mrs. Michelle the opportunity to dive into creative projects and hands-on experiences that just aren't possible during the busy school year. We're so grateful for the time, care, and creativity she pours into making each day memorable for our campers.

🌱 Campers at Camp Innovation had an incredible time exploring Bent River Farm this summer!
Our campers have learned all about planting, harvesting, caring for farm animals, and the important role farms play in providing the food we eat. They discovered just how connected we are to the natural world and gained a new appreciation for the hard work that goes into growing our food.
The adventure didn't stop there! Campers even found arrowheads along one of the farm paths, sparking conversations about the area's history, and of course, they couldn't resist getting a little messy making mud pies just for fun! It was a day full of learning, exploration, and unforgettable memories.
A huge thank you to everyone at Bent River Farm for sharing the beauty of your farm and inspiring our campers to appreciate the amazing world around them. We are so grateful for your partnership!

Students transformed into pirates as they worked together to solve challenges, conduct hands-on science experiments, and put their engineering skills to the test. One of the highlights of the week was designing and building their very own pirate ship! Mrs. Robyn and her crew of young pirates worked together to create a ship worthy of sailing the high seas.
Each day has been filled with creativity, problem-solving, and plenty of fun as crews navigated their way through exciting adventures.

Mr. Sandoval's Leadership Group took on a fun engineering challenge by building sculptures out of toothpicks and then testing their strength by balancing books on top. 📚🦷
Campers worked together, solved problems, and showed great perseverance as they designed and improved their creations. It was amazing to see their creativity, teamwork, and leadership skills in action!
