Winter Camp Champs!
At our Governing Board Meeting last night, we had the joy of recognizing the incredible people who helped make Winter Camp such a meaningful and memorable experience for our students!
A very special celebration goes to our outstanding Winter Camp Organizer, Mrs. Teddy Armstrong. Her dedication, leadership, and heart for students brought this amazing experience to life for students once again. 👏❄️
We also want to give a huge round of applause to our wonderful Winter Camp volunteers, whose time, enthusiasm, and support made the adventure possible:
⭐ Kyle Chambliss
⭐ Christopher Malinak
⭐ Hailey Romey
⭐ Theresa Romey
⭐ Caleb Rundlett
⭐ Sheena Saranita
⭐ Stacey Shelton
⭐ Shelby Turk
⭐ Kaley Badger
⭐ Hannah Carlson
⭐ Steven Moore
Because of this amazing team, our students were able to learn, explore, and create memories that will last a lifetime. 💙
We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to AZ Complete Health for their generous grant funding, which helped make this incredible experience possible for our students. Community partnerships like this truly make a difference!
Please join us in celebrating and thanking these incredible volunteers and supporters! 🙌

We'd like to give a special shout-out to all our Art Club Leaders: Tovah in Gardens 4 Humanity, Jodi in LEGO Club, Heidi and Juliana in Ocelot Knots, Sherry and Grace and Officer Roger in Puppetry, Michel in Ukulele, and Sarah in 3D Printing — thank you all for keeping these students super-focused on creativity!

This week, Mrs. Michelle gave students the freedom to explore their imaginations — whether it was painting, weaving, beading, or designing something completely their own. One of our favorites? An adorable frog on a lily pad made entirely from pompoms! 🐸💚 Talk about creativity in action!
We are so thankful to Mrs. Michelle for creating a safe, welcoming space after school where our kiddos can relax, express themselves, and let their creativity shine. It’s such a joy to watch friendships grow right alongside their artistic talents.
Thank you, Mrs. Michelle, for all the heart you pour into our students each week! 💕

This week, our girls had a blast creating adorable dessert treat trays with mini cakes 🧁🍓 — their creativity truly shone! Week after week, these girls continue to impress with their creativity, teamwork, and big hearts 👑💖
A huge thank you to Mrs. Winters for taking time out of her busy schedule each week to run this heartfelt club for our young women. Your dedication, kindness, and guidance make this space so special 💗

After so much anticipation, the kids were beyond excited to finally hit the pedals! Smiles were big, energy was high, and it was clear they were so happy to be there!
A huge thank you to our dedicated Wheel Fun coaches for sharing your passion and getting our students outside and moving. We are so grateful for the positive impact you’re making at CCS and across the district! 💚🚵♀️

🎲 Happening Now: Teen Maze – A Real-Life Game About Real-Life Choices
Teen Maze, sponsored by Yavapai County Health Services and made possible through the support of many dedicated community volunteers, is happening NOW at the COCSD District Office!
This interactive, community-driven event gives youth the opportunity to experience the real-life consequences of everyday choices in a safe, engaging environment. Designed to resemble a life-size board game, Teen Maze walks participants through realistic scenarios that highlight the impact of decisions related to health, relationships, finances, peer pressure, and more.
We’re excited to share that Oak Creek Elementary School’s Mrs. Alagna’s class was one of the first groups to experience Teen Maze today!
The goal of this powerful event is to equip students with practical information and resources so they can make informed, healthy decisions for their future.
A big thank you to Yavapai County Health Services and all of the incredible volunteers who help make this meaningful experience possible for our youth!
